Inveraray

Inveraray castle is in the front, then Inveraray is nested on the side of loch Fyne.

Our last day in Argyll! Last post for almost a week, we're back in Edinburgh and I'm going to stay put for most of next week for job hunting reasons - plus apparently the weather forecast looks to be not so good...

It was Louis who suggested that we stop in Inveraray and today showed it was a very good idea. First the weather was kind to us, and then visiting the Inveraray castle was definitely worth it! (The number of pictures I took and am posting of the castle is proof)

The Inveraray castle is where they shot the Scottish episode of Downton Abbey! Now I must see this episode again. It's still the home of the Duke of Argyll so it's very much alive. I'll never totally get used to the fact that they still have such a strong aristocracy in the UK... I loved the gardens too.

After the visit we went up a nearby hill called Dun Na Cuaiche, from which we got fine views of loch Fyne (haha), see above.

After a stop in a tearoom (Green Door tearoom, I recommend it!), we boarded the Glasgow bus which took us through the scenic A83/A82, back to the city.

So no update to the blog for the next days, but see you here soon!
